From Web APIs to a Web of Capabilities. The journey to AI Integration.

This session argues for a fundamental shift in perspective: from static Web APIs to dynamic ""Capabilities” truly enabling AI integration. We will define what Capabilities are—discoverable, composable, and governed units of business function—and explore how they elevate traditional APIs from simple contracts to AI-ready polyglot tools. We will then introduce the ""Capability Fabric,"" a new architectural pattern, alternative to Service Mesh, and designed to manage these capabilities at scale. We'll demonstrate how this fabric provides the necessary governance, composition, and observability for AI-driven interactions, aligning perfectly with modern practices like Domain-Driven Design and Platform Engineering.
