Welcome to the Naftiko Capabilities Podcast
Kin Lane
January 6th, 2025

I'd like to introduce you to the new Naftiko Capabilities podcast—our semi-weekly conversations with interesting people on a variety of technology-related topics that we work to better align with business outcomes. The podcast will be roughly 15 minutes per episode, with minimal production, focusing on what our guests have to say on topics ranging from capabilities to domains.

Community Inspired

This inaugural edition of the Capabilities podcast was inspired by blog posts written by Mike Amundsen, Christian Posta, Bruno Pedro, and Daniel Kocot on the topic of "capabilities." I invited Mike and Christian to have a conversation, and will be getting Bruno and Daniel to join us soon. We talked about a lot of things, but I wanted to focus on what our guests had to say specifically about capabilities from each of their perspectives, helping kick off the podcast of the same name.

Snackable Episodes

We want to keep Naftiko Podcast episodes to 15-20 minutes long. Sometimes we'll fall short of this goal or maybe go a little over, but we'd like to keep them short, sweet, and in your podcasting platform of choice twice a week. Our goal is to be consistent and talk about interesting topics you might not be getting exposed to on other podcasts, providing a summary of how capability thinking is changing how we approach desktop, web, mobile, device, server, network, and AI integrations.

Business Aligned

The Naftiko podcast is titled "capabilities," but we will be talking about the product and engineering details that power capabilities. We won't shy away from getting into the technical weeds of how our systems and applications are integrated today, but we will always work to bring things home on the business side. It will take some work, but we want to appeal not just to an engineering audience and provide an informative, plain-language, yet entertaining podcast that brings in business stakeholders.

Minimal Production

Our primary goal with the Naftiko Capabilities podcast is to bring in interesting people to talk about interesting and relevant topics you won't find elsewhere, and secondarily worry about audio or video precision. The podcast is coming out of the gate with minimal production, but is something we will continue to invest in over time, with an emphasis on guest and topic quality over expensive microphones and post-production enhancements—those will come with time as we pick up momentum with the podcast.

Enterprise AI Integration

Here at Naftiko, we feel it's an important time to talk about enterprise AI integration in the context of the existing investments we've made into APIs, platforms, open source, and other essential areas, as well as overall business alignment. The Naftiko Capabilities podcast is where we have this conversation, providing us a real-time forum to explore the topics that matter to the Naftiko roadmap, our customers, and the wider technology community, pushing for perpetual alignment with business outcomes.

We feel that this artificial intelligence moment we find ourselves in provides a unique opportunity to talk about all of the existing SaaS APIs already in use across our enterprise operations, alongside the internal APIs we have been developing over the years. The Naftiko Capabilities podcast is looking to understand this landscape as it comes up against the artificial intelligence pressures coming from within and outside of the enterprise. We hope you'll tune in and let us know what you are capable of today and what you'd like to be capable of tomorrow—helping shape the roadmap for the Naftiko Capabilities podcast, which you can tune into on YouTube, Apple, or Spotify.
